This week's affirmation: I try to find the lesson, the message or the opportunity in every crisis or challenge that confronts me.
I only learned the history of the "Keep Calm and Carry On" slogan last year. As a writer and marketer, one of the first things I wanted to know was who came up with it. I think it's a great message; it takes creativity and imagination to craft an uplifting message during a time of turmoil and stress.
When morale around you is low, and everyone is depressed and fearful it's really hard to "keep calm". But even this message (which was never even supposed to see the light of day yet is here 70+ years later) is a testament to fortitude.
As Jamaicans say, "The darkes' part a di night a before day light." (The darkest part of the night is right before daylight.), so til then, keep calm and carry on. There are brighter days ahead.
